How to read this

A percentile compares an athlete to others their own age. So when a younger athlete climbs from the 8th to the 76th percentile, he didn't just get older — he moved up on the kids who got older too. That's what growth-adjusted means: compared against peers who are growing over the same window, not growth subtracted out. An athlete who starts low tends to climb for statistical reasons alone, which is why we always show the starting percentile beside the finishing one.
